Jackie Kennedy-inspired Wedding

If you've landed a fella with some pedigree (or you want to fake it), an American princess-style wedding can't be beat. Jackie and Jack got hitched at her family's estate in Newport, Rhode Island — you don't get a better address than Hammersmith Farm.

I would love to take a cue from Jackie and plan a night of sumptuous glamour, full of the little details that etch a wedding in people's memories — an applique of fabric flowers on wispy tulle, sequins catching the light, a rich velvet shoe and sparkling antique earrings.

Classic Glamour Wedding

Is there anyone other than Vera who could fit the bill? Pair an elegant full ball gown with delicate antique jewelry, soft pink lips and a rich fragrance, like Chloe.

Glam Bridesmaids

The expected thing would be to put the bridesmaids in floor-length chiffon, which would be elegant and tasteful. But wouldn't it be extra dazzling to put them in silvery disco dresses, interesting black pumps and sexy earrings? I'm a big believer in good-looking bridesmaids. There's no chance they'd steal the show from the bride, but they might as well catch a few glances.
